The Village of Pleasant Prairie has seven boards and commissions each with specific responsibilities as detailed in the Village of Pleasant Prairie Municipal Code and Wisconsin State Statutes.

These boards and commissions are established for the purpose of acquiring and studying information in specific areas and to make recommendations to the Village Board on issues within their area of expertise. Some boards are quasi-judicial and have decision-making powers within their areas of expertise. Decisions made by quasi-judicial boards, and can be, are appealed to the Circuit Court of Kenosha County.

Appointments to the boards and commission are made annually in May. Recruitment for the annual appointments typically begins in January. Through the year vacancies may occur due to resignations. If the pool of applications on file from the last annual appointment process is not sufficient to fill interim vacancies, the Village Clerk's Office will periodically advertise for additional applicants.

See each board/commission page for information regarding members. Meeting schedules, agendas, and minutes coming soon!

Snow & Fire Hydrants
Help Keep Them Clear

This winter, for the safety of you and your neighbors, keep hydrants clear of snow.

A minimum radius of five feet of snow clearing is necessary so the fire hydrants can be seen by emergency personnel.

If you know of a neighbor who has a hydrant on their property and is unable to shovel it out, please lend a hand.

Early repsonse for the firefighters is paramount to protecting life and property in your neighborhood. If the Fire Department is delayed in response because they have to find/dig out a hydrant, it could have a critical effect.
